How do I know if German is right for me?
Students should choose a language that they are interested in. Students and Guardians should guide studnets in evaluating their personal interests and future plans: Family members, music, sports, business, culture, history, diversification, etc.
Here are some simple things to help you make your choice.
Consider what cultures interest you most. Learning the language of a culture you're fascinated with will give you an invaluable "in" into that culture.
Think of what places excite you: Wouldn't it be nice to walk the streets and enjoy the restaurants on your own time and in your own way?
What kinds of foods interest you?
Find out how many people speak the various languages you're considering learning.
With what percentage of the world's population do you want to be able to communicate?
Look at a map to see how much area is covered by native speakers of various languages. The larger the area, the more places you'll be able to visit with ease.
