ABOUT ME

I am Frau Anna Hog. I am a German-American citizen. I was raised in both countries equally, learning both English and German as a child. My home town in Germany is Endingen am Kaiserstuhl. I resided in Germany from 1992-2002, where I earned my degree in Hotel and Business Management with teacher certification. I also met my husband during this time. Together we owned and operated a Hotel in the Black Forest region, teaching young students to be Hoteliers. (The hotel today.) If ever in Germany stop by there to visit the new owners. In 1999, we were blessed with our wonderful son, Christopher. I soon realized how much I love to teach and decided to persue a career in teaching what I love the most: my language, culture and heritage.

I have degrees from IHK Freiburg, Elmhurst College, Aurora University, and National Louis University. I received a Master of Art in Teaching from Aurora University. I am an active member in ACTFL, ICTFL, AATG, DANK, and LOOM. In 2004, I received a teaching position at Neuqua Valley High School. I enjoyed teaching German 1, 2, and 4AP to the students there. I enjoyed co-leading the DeutschKlub, German National Honor Society and an Exchange to northern Germany.

Since at SD308, I have had the priviledge of sponsoring the DeutschKlub, German National Honor Society and the German Travel Trips. We have enjoyed two Concerts:Uwe Kind & Doppel U. We participate anually in the UIC German High School Days, the Christkindlmarkt and GlobalFest. We enjoy learning about culture, cooking, and dialects through watching German films.
